Sports Performance Coach/Personal Trainer Position

Athletic Evolution SPT is currently seeking Sports Performance Coach(s) (Independent Contractor)

Are you a personal trainer interested in becoming a Sports Performance Coach?  Are you one already?  We’re searching for someone like you to join our team and help athletes achieve their full potential on the court, course, field, mat, track, etc. and OFF!  This opening will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized and group workout programs for clients to match their needs and fitness goals. This is an independent contractor position and will remain open until filled.

Location: Athletic Evolution SPT facility located in Carmel Mountain/Poway

Qualifications

  • Education
    • High School diploma or GED
    • Preferred four-year degree in kinesiology, sports medicine, or another related field, or working toward one
  • Experience
    • Personal training or sport coaching experience preferred
    • Program design experience preferred
    • Competitive sports experience, preferably tennis or other court sports
  • Expertise
    • Excellent communication skills
    • A passion for helping athletes achieve their goals
  • Licenses/Certifications/Registrations
    • Must possess a current nationally recognized personal training certification
      • (ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA)
    • CPR/AED
    • Must possess current liability insurance

Responsibilities – Develop and deliver safe, professional, exciting and comprehensive sports performance and personal training programs to ensure athletes and clients are satisfied with their workout program and remain motivated to attain their personal health and fitness goals.

– Coach athletes to improve their athletic potential through movement education and sports performance programming.

– Share your expertise from the competitive sports arena and inspire client-athletes to take their game to the next level.

Day-to-Day Operations-

  • Perform Fitness Assessments & Equipment Orientations
  • Evaluate and assess clients’ goals, health history, and fitness levels
  • Monitor clients’ progress regularly, adjusting workout plans as needed to ensure goal accomplishment
  • Offer continuous support, encouragement, and accountability to clients throughout their athletic development
  • Lead training sessions, motivating and instructing clients on proper exercise techniques and form to maximize results
  • Operate within the credentialed scope of practice
    • Use referral networks for clients who need medical, nutritional, psychological, or other assistance to participate in a training program
  • Schedule may vary based on Coach and client-athlete availability

Personal Expectations

  • Maintain personal training certifications, CPR certifications and liability insurance
  • Stay updated on fitness trends, techniques, and certifications to enhance professional knowledge
  • Present a neat and professional appearance at all times
  • Promote punctuality and communicate with clients and facility

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to use cardiovascular and weight machines and routinely perform the following physical activities; climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for extended periods of time, walk, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, hear and have visual acuity to perform detailed tasks
  • Must be able to demonstrate and execute drills and exercise with proficiency.

Marketing Opportunities

  • Generate client leads and retain existing client base
  • Option to collaborate to develop events, promotions, and offers
  • (optional) Contribute to newsletter for education, marketing, and connecting with potential clients

Facility

  • Provide & report monthly training sessions and client numbers
  • Return equipment after sessions and clean as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring all equipment is in proper working condition
  • Communicate any equipment issues to the facility director
  • Lockers available for specific equipment not already available at the facility

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Ability to build trusting relationships with member
  • Excellent customer service and promotional skills; must be energetic, enthusiastic and motivational.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Extensive knowledge of fitness, cardiovascular training, and program design
  • Knowledge of safe exercise techniques, potential injuries, and ability to handle emergencies
  • Demonstrate exercises and adjust machine weights, free weights, and cardiovascular equipment
  • Ability to multi-task and learn quickly
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
